Are your P&IDs causing more headaches than solutions

Have you or your team wasted precious hours double-checking P&IDs for accuracy when planning modifications, looking for tie-in points, isolations or conducting safety reviews?

Ever struggled with oversized P&IDs that are difficult to take on-site? and when you print out smaller versions, they are impossible to read or mark-up?

Do you have multiple versions of the same drawing, duplicated equipment, different symbology?

These are all challenges our process engineer Daniel Mullen has faced on a recent project for a global drinks manufacturer in Scotland:

“We’ve recently overhauled the entire set of P&IDs for our Client and their feedback tells us that this is already paying dividends!

We conducted multiple site surveys, delivering over 100 P&IDs with a focus on accuracy and overall quality, including:

  1. Optimising Layout: Making them A3-friendly and intuitive to follow for on-site use. No more squinting!
  2. Consistent Symbology and Numbering: We standardised the symbology and implemented a new numbering system, making equipment location and position in the production process more intuitive to understand.
  3. Increased Accuracy: Adding missing details from simple things such as tag numbers or more in-depth checking against control systems, and overall improving confidence to ensure unnecessary delays are kept to a minimum.

Whether your facility has 1 or 100 P&IDs, our expert team at IDEA can tailor a solution to fit your specific needs.
